Family owned & operated since 1979, John Peck Auctions offers auction & personal property appraisal services for individuals, estates, and institutions. We specialize in live and online auctions of a wide range of personal property such as firearms, sporting goods, vehicles, farm equipment, machinery, tools, household, real estate, antiques & collectibles.
The company was founded by John C. Peck, a highly experienced auctioneer that has earned a reputation of being one of the countries leading auctioneers. John Sr. joined forces with his son, John Jr., and their skilled team to deliver exceptional service to customers, ensuring a personalized auction experience every time. Their expertise allows them to customize each auction according to the unique circumstances of their clients. They cater to a diverse range of customers and provide hands-on customer service, going the extra mile by traveling to clients for appraisals and offering expert advice on buying and selling. John Peck Auctions holds a Federal Firearms License to conduct legally sanctioned firearm auctions. This coupled with John Jr's many professional years in the gun business have enabled us to sell 1,000's of firearms to and for customers all over the country. We are one of the few Michigan based companies that can legally sell firearms and the only auctioneer's that bring our wealth of knowledge to create an excellent buying & selling experience.

Meet the Auction Team
Professionalism, Integrity, Exceptional Service
John is a legend in the auction community with roots starting at 13 in the dusty pens of the Standish Stockyards. He learned how to auction by watching the old-timers that are the fastest in the business, livestock auctioneers. He sold heavy equipment before deciding to create his own path. He has 1,000's of auctions under his belt spanning a 40+ year career. For many years he worked as a machinists at DeVlieg Machine & Tooling Systems Division while he was building John Peck Auctions brick by brick. Eventually, the company grew to the point he had to make the decision to go all in. We appreciate his willingness to risk it all. He still plays an active role in the daily operations of the company, and you will regularly see him working along everyone else. Even in the world of online auctions John Sr's chant is unmistakable. He has been married to his child sweetheart Karen Peck our auction matriarch for over 40 years. They have two children John Jr. & Catherine. They still live at the birthplace of John Peck Auctions - Gladwin, MI 48624
John Jr. was born and raised in the auctions selling his first item on a ladder next to his father and mentor at 13. He spent 8 years in U.S. Navy engaged in the Global War On Terrorism. He has traveled the world with Air Squadrons and elected to leave the service as a First Class Petty Officer to join his father in the family business. He is a formally educated gunsmith and has owned 2 successful gun shops selling many thousands of guns. John is responsible for nearly all aspects of online auctions and specifically gun auctions. When selling or buying firearms, he's the guy. At a live auction, it's sometimes hard to tell if it's Senior or Junior selling as their chants are so similar. John received his formal education in the field by one of the best in the business, his father. He is married to his lovely wife Carley and lives in Charlotte, MI with her and their 4 children.
Kennedy was Charlotte's 2022 valedictorian & an All-Conference athlete. She is a full-time student at Grand Valley State University and Dean's List member. Needless to say, Kennedy is pretty smart and tough shooting 50 BMG's with laser accuracy. Her attention to detail, intelligence and kind demeanor makes her one of John Peck Auctions most valuable assets. She is the oldest daughter of John Jr. & Carley Peck.
Kris is one of our most experienced cashiers and bookkeepers. Her job role has changed multiple times throughout her career at John Peck Auctions because of her intelligence and attention to detail. She has always been a critical part of our operations and success. Kris is like family and both Sr. & Jr. would probably lose their heads if Kris didn't ensure they were screwed on tight.
The Jack of Trades. Jack is one of John Peck Auctions longest and most trusted members. He started as a customer nearly 40 years ago. We wouldn't be the company we are today without Jack and his wife Margaret. Many of the unique circumstances that go into orchestrating a successful customized auction is the product of Jack coming up with a plan to get things done. If you need help loading with a tractor or a tractor delivered to you, he's the guy. Jack is a longtime personal friend to Senor & Junior.
Caylen is one of the hardest working members of John Peck Auctions. She balance's two jobs and is a full-time student at Lansing Community College making their dean's list. Her dedication and work ethic shine through every day. She is honest to a fault & has a great demeanor. She is always willing to help any customer she encounters. Caylen & Kennedy have been best friends since kindergarten.
Margaret has one of the most critical jobs at our company. She handles the money and ensures the safe secure balancing of all auctions. She is also our most experienced live auction clerk. John Jr. & Margaret have spent countless hours learning the intricacies of online auction software in order to efficiently process customers maintaining a high level of service. We could not do what we do without Margarets tireless attention to detail and critical thinking ability.
Jodi has been with John Peck Auctions for years. She is as smart as she is witty. The role of an auction cashier has evolved over the years within the industry. Jodi’s intelligence and work ethic has enabled her to be successful in cashiering responsibilities. Because of her integrity and honesty we are able to entrust huge sums of assets to her. We wouldn’t be the company we are without highly qualified people like Jodi.
Derek is one of the newest additions to our team and we sure are happy to have him. He’s tech savvy, witty, efficient, and hardworking. His knowledge base starts with antiques and vintage items but is quickly growing due to his intelligence. We have high hopes for Derek and see a bright future for him at John Peck Auctions.
Gladwin Country boy to the heart. Scotty comes from a great family that we’ve known forever. He’s hardworking, funny, trustworthy, and an all-around great guy. Whether it’s photographing high end guns or running a telehandler he’s, our guy. We are happy to have him as a member of our team and see limitless potential in his future.
